Saltire Stoves & Sweeps is the brainchild of Jamie Taylor and Stuart Louden, we decided to open our own stove fitting and sweeping service for clients in Scotland. After working for other stove companies in Glasgow, we decided to collectively pool our knowledge that we have accrued in the past 20+ years. Within the industry of operating as a team, we are able to provide an honest and pragmatic service drawing on our many years of experience that we have undertaken within this industry and other construction based trades.

Jamie Taylor found himself in his early career working in various seasonal positions such as the construction, fish farming and private yachting/cruising industry for many years. This allowed him to travel the world and gain a wealth of life experience and knowledge. Working throughout the Summer and allowing him to come home during the winter to spend time with family and friends. Upon returning home he looked for something to occupy him as he is not one for ‘sitting idle’ this is when he met with Stuart Louden, as Winter is typically the busiest period of the year for the fireplace/stove industry due to the weather in Scotland he found himself with a new fascination.

I started out as a helping hand to Stuart for a couple of shifts during the week in the winter months, when I would be seasonally released from my work as a marine engineer. It soon developed into a full time passion where I would come back and get stuck in for 6 months of every year for almost 15 years, before finally deciding to team up and go out on our own and try and make an impact in the stove industry.
